When a girl who has no experienced of being vocal gifted with the power of words, what will she used it for?.

Alright after being on hiatus for a while i've decided to write a review of a book that personally close to me. I know what you are thinking "Did you write this book or something?", and the answer is No. This book is written by a friend of mine. It's become personal because it's something close with me (I don't witness every little scene but i probably saw some of the scene) but also because i have ever be in the situation described in the book, being unheard and dismissed because of my gender. Before i get to the review of the book let me give you a little bit of synopsis of this book. Sendiri (Alone) is a book about a girl who struggled within her life journey. It's a heart wrenching story about a girl who never understand the power of words because she never had it and ended up abusing the power of words because she doesn't know how to use it properly. The book consist of sequence of life stages and each problem she has to face between the life stage and how she deal with it.
Not giving too much detail about it, the story explore the hardship of being a girl raised in a religious and patriarchal culture while struggling with inner emotional struggle. One of the most notable thing about the book also revolve around the MC conflicting decision of wanting to be accepted of to survived in social life that treat women differently.
It's hard not to relate if you are born in that particular context because in some way or another we all ever be "the girl" who have to fit in and outcast.

In honest review i would give this book an overall score of 3/5. The book itself give so many meaning and message that impact especially for girls that have to face the same experience. For a beginner the writing style is enjoyable and easy to follow as well. But, there is still some lack in term of plot development. in some arc the story feel too Main character centrist (Although, that is probably the whole point of the book) but it just feel a little less deep due to the lack description of the environment and interaction between character. The book was written in Indonesian language (Hopefully there will be english version too later on). Here how you can access the book and support the writer as well
