In my journey playing Survival horror game, never once I feel disturb by any of it. I guess the easiest answer as to why that happened to me or some of you pretty simple: We know it’s real.

So what is the game about?

Perfection is A first-person psychological horror game that taps into mankind's insecurities that we all share as human beings. This game will be personalised to each player by using back end data to keep a log of the players information as well as how they interact with the game world around them. This information will then change certain aspects of the game, making the experience more personalised and hopefully helping each person to realise aspects about their own personality. Data will be shown as a personality log at the end of the game for each person to see how the game judged them. –Official Synopsis of the game

So perfection is that one game that is not only a game but also a personality test (A simple one, but hey it always fun to have unique interactive game like this)

Now as I’ve said most of survival horror game doesn’t really tap any sense of fear in me. Perfection on the other hand gives out something different. It’s unique and original in its own way for me. This game provides you the most relatable fear. It digs out things that make you feel uneasy and disturbed in some way. Even if later on the monster “Spoiler Alert” doesn’t really exactly scared me off. I guess at the end, the very first frame of the game where our perspective are shape are the on that counts and preserve the feeling of suspense. When we play this game we have two most important trigger:

1. We know the game will try to manifest our insecurity and fear

2. We are told to not play the game all the time. The warning always there and end up building up suspense.

There are plus and minus of it usually. Where we are put to enjoy the ride of roller coaster the game provided but at the same time the excitement kind of backfired at the ending where the expectation wasn’t fulfilled. Now the difference that perfection gives in here IMO is where the ending wasn’t meant to give one final climax of suspense. The suspense isn’t about the monster but the realization in the ending. I would not tell what it will be but the game give a pretty good way to gives closure (And certainly something to think of after playing the game.

Overall Suspense: 7.5/10

Sound: 8/10

Graphic: 6/10

Script: 7/10

One of the most notable part of the game is the usage of the sound or rather voices. It drawn you and yet builds up all the suspense. And additionally the I like the script too. It wasn’t really complicated but it’s enough to keep you hook and not confused. Moreover, it surely can cover up the graphic. I think the graphic is fine (And if you think about it simple is the best for survival horror) but there are some detail that could be put to increase level of thrill in the game.

Plus Point: The moral message of the game is pretty clear and sweet. It’s rare for a survival horror to provide a deeper moral message (But that’s the whole point anyway, to make us scared)but perfection allow room of reflection to every player. This means the message you get may varied depend on your insecurity, interaction and the ending you got later.

Overall the game is enjoyable and worth to be check out.
